It’s the middle of January and I’m wondering when winter is going to get here. I hope we get some so this water temperature will drop into the low to mid 40s. I like the colder water because I feel the jerkbait bite is better then. That is one of my favorite ways to fish. The last couple years have not been good jerkbait fishing. Hopefully this year will be different.
I haven’t been out fishing much this past week but from good reliable sources tell me the fish are still biting good. The deep fish are still biting although I haven’t heard of any 40+ fish catches. The Alabama rig is catching fish. I’ve had one buddy tell me he caught them 10-15 feet deep while another buddy tells me he’s catching them 25-35 feet deep.
I’ll be getting out in the next few days and hope to have a good report to share.
